Cleaning of slate floors
Slate is a good, if relatively expensive, the choice for the floors in both domestic and commercial environment. If a professional is certainly one of the plans more attractive and available in a variety of styles, colors and textures – both rough and smooth.
Part of the high cost of slate is reflected in the sustainability and the relative ease of maintenance, if properly cared for. This is not a porous substance (that is often used for the tiles) and therefore not easily stain.
However, it is important to realize that the slate floor need attention to ensure that regular cleaning is still effective. As hard as the surface is variable – usually less severe ends smooth, but irregular can lead to a gradual increase of stains and bacteria that may in time, difficult to remove. Slate is often called “sealed” with a sort of insulation with the idea to avoid stains.
Applying a sealant is highly recommended, but a combination of general use, walking in the dust (especially shoes) and moving objects and furniture can cause scratches and wear, which can not leave the protected area and it is here that the color can happen. The mortar between the edges of a substance on the list is very porous and can stain easily, also leads to an unsatisfactory end.
